Boston – One of my parents' deepest fears, I suspect, is that society would not value me as a musician. I remember my mother's reaction when I announced my decision to study music instead of medicine: "You're wasting your SAT scores!" My parents love music, but at the time they were unclear about its value.

The confusion is understandable: We put music in the "arts and entertainment" section of the newspaper. But music often has little to do with entertainment. Quite the opposite.

The ancient Greeks had a fascinating way of articulating how music works. In their quadrivium – geometry, arithmetic, astronomy, and music – astronomy and music are two sides of the same coin. Astronomy describes relationships between observable, external, permanent objects.

Music illuminates relationships between invisible, internal, transient objects. I imagine us having internal planets, constellations of complicated thoughts and feelings. Music finds the invisible pieces inside our hearts and souls and helps describe the position of things inside us, like a telescope that looks in rather than out.

In June 1940, French composer Olivier Messiaen was captured by the Germans and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp. There, he finished a quartet for piano, cello, violin, and clarinet, and performed it, with three other imprisoned musicians, for the inmates and guards of that camp. The piece ("Quartet for the End of Time") is arguably one of the greatest successes in the history of music.

Given what we have since learned about life under Nazi occupation, why would anyone write music there? If you're just trying to stay alive, why bother with music? And yet – even from concentration camps themselves, we have surviving evidence of poetry, music, and visual art – many people made art. Why?

Art must be, somehow, essential for life. In fact, art is part of survival; art is part of the human spirit, an unquenchable expression of who we are; art is one of the ways in which we say, "I am alive, and my life has meaning."

On Sept. 11, 2001, I was a resident of Manhattan. Later that day I reached a new understanding of my art. Given the day's events, the idea of playing the piano seemed absurd, disrespectful, and pointless. Amid ambulances, firefighters, and fighter jets, I heard an inner voice ask: "Why am I here? What place has a musician in this moment?"

Then I saw how we survived. The first group activity in my neighborhood that night was singing. People sang. They sang around firehouses; they sang "We Shall Overcome," "America the Beautiful," "The Star-Spangled Banner"; they sang songs learned in elementary school, which some hadn't sung since then.

Within days, we gathered at Lincoln Center for the Brahms Requiem. Along with firefighters and fighter jets, artists were "first responders" in this disaster, too. The military secured our airspace, but musicians led the recovery. In measuring the revival of New York, the return of Broadway – another art form – was as significant a milestone as the reopening of the stock markets.

I now understand that music is not part of "arts and entertainment." It's not a luxury, something we fund from budget leftovers. Music is a basic need of human survival. Music is one of the ways we make sense of things, a way to express feelings when we have no words, a way to understand things with our hearts when we cannot grasp them with our minds. Music is the language we choose when we are speechless.

Imagine a graduation with absolutely no music – or a wedding, a presidential inauguration, or a service celebrating the life and death of a close friend – imagine these with no music whatsoever. What's missing – entertainment? Hardly.

What's missing is the capacity to meaningfully experience these events, as though eating great food without tasting it. Music functions as a container for experience – it augments capacity to grasp complex things. Without music, the events of our lives slip like water through cupped hands. Music increases our capacity to hold life experiences, to celebrate them, to survive them.

The performance I think of as my most important concert took place in a nursing home in a small Midwestern town. I was playing with a dear friend of mine, a violinist. We began with Aaron Copland's "Sonata," which was written during World War II and dedicated to a young pilot who was shot down during the war.

Midway through the piece, an elderly man seated in a wheelchair near the front of the concert hall began to weep. After we finished, we mentioned that the piece was dedicated to a downed pilot. The man became so disturbed he had to leave the auditorium, but showed up backstage afterward, tears and all, to explain himself.

He told us that during World War II, as a pilot, he was in an aerial combat situation where one of his team's planes was hit. He watched his friend bail out and his parachute open. But the Japanese planes returned and machine-gunned across the parachute chords, separating the parachute from the pilot. He then watched his friend drop away into the ocean, lost. He said he had not thought about that for years, but during that first piece of music we played, this memory returned to him so vividly that it was as though he was reliving it.

How did Copland manage to capture that picture of internal planets so clearly?

People walk into concert halls as they walk into emergency rooms, in need of healing. They may bring a broken body to a hospital, but they often bring with them to the concert a mind that is confused, a heart that is overwhelmed, a soul that is weary. Whether they go out whole again depends partly on how well musicians do their craft.

A musician is more of a paramedic than an entertainer. I'm not interested in entertaining you; I'm interested in keeping you alive. Fully alive. We're a lot like cardiac surgeons; we hold people's hearts in our hands every day. We just use different instruments.

What should we expect from young people who choose a future in music? Frankly, I expect them to save the planet.

If there is a future wave of wellness, of harmony, of peace, an end to war, mutual understanding, equality, fairness, I don't expect it to come from a government, a military force, or a corporation.

If there is a future of peace for humankind, if we are to have an understanding of how these invisible, internal things should fit together, I expect it will come from the artists, because that's what we do.

As we did in the Nazi camps and on the evening of 9/11, the artists are the ones who might be able to help us with our internal, invisible lives.

Most of her "free" time however is devoted to practicing and learning new pieces. Music is truly her biggest passion.

YUI -《Again》Single

After a short rest from August 2008, YUI will release a new single《again》on 3rd June. The song is the main theme for "Full Metal Alchemist FA". During her break, she went on a tour to New York, where she attended the local's R&B singer "Usher" concert, as well as taken her driving test. She also wrote a song for the japanese band "Stereopony", which she made several new attempts.

I will try to upload the song and PV asap... once i get my hands on the album.. ^_^

Patapon 2 Returns!!

Four-player ad-hoc multiplayer is the biggest new addition to the Patapon sequel. The idea behind the co-op multiplayer mode is simple. In Patapon 2's single-player story mode, you'll occasionally come across giant eggs -- some of which contain helpful items, some of which hold smaller eggs inside. In order to hatch these suckers, you'll have to team up with other players and navigate a special enemy-laden multiplayer battleground, using the traditional pata-pata-pata-pon drumbeat to heft the egg forward and defending it whenever monsters loom nearby. Once you arrive at the special egg-hatching altar at the end of the field, all four players will perform a hatching ceremony, a sort of tribal drumline where everyone has to match their rhythms together to crack open the egg.

As Kotani put it to Weekly Famitsu, the original Patapon lacked multiplayer because he thought it would be too hard for players to come to grips with. "You control a lot of characters at once in Patapon, so we thought multiplayer would be too difficult to deal with," he says. "You wouldn't have any idea which fighers were under your control. That's where the Hero Patapon come in." These Hero Patapon, amusingly enough, play a similar role to the "heroes" in real-time strategy games like Warcraft III -- they're a central unit to your Patapon army, a very powerful character that can be further customized and strengthened with the special items you earn in multiplayer. "[The Hero Patapon] are strong, but the enemies are just as strong this time," Kotani notes. "There are lots more bosses and midboss-type enemies this time. We've got about double the amount of content to explore, just in terms of the number of stages alone. Add the customization options to that, and to be honest, you may never get to fully explore every bit of it."

Hmmm after trying it out for a couple of hours, the gameplay is pretty much the same as from the old one with some additions. You get to use a "hero" char now, who can do special attacks pretty much like dota. The army upgrades through a tree system like diablo, with branches to different/new classes. You can level up individual soldiers too. And there's the egg thingy which i haven't explored yet... have to find other players to do multiplayer. Items seemed easier to get i think... so far no mini-games yet.. no improvement on the music..

One day the exceedingly cool class president (Hideo Ishiguro) takes some pictures of the choir during a performance and when he shows Kasumi some of his work, he amusedly points out that her facial expression while singing looks remarkably like a spawning salmon. Although meant as an innocuous comment, Kasumi takes it really hard and wonders if she can continue singing if that’s the face she makes. She decides to quit the choir, but eventually she runs into a gang of choral thugs from River High and their leader (Sayuri Iwata) teaches her that it doesn’t matter how you look when you sing as long as you have soul.

諸葛先生發現蔡京勾結齊王趙昌，企圖謀朝篡位，於是親自當臥底接近齊王，意圖搜查罪證。豈料蔡京將計就計，反過來陷害諸葛先生勾結齊王謀反，終令諸葛先生面臨抄家被斬之命運。與此同時，無情、鐵手和追命同時質疑諸葛先生建立神捕司的用心，只是貪圖權利的手段，結果令神捕司與四大捕快同時陷於分崩離析的狀態。幸好危急關頭時，曾為殺手的冷血依然忠於諸葛先生，遂拚死逃避蔡京等人的追殺，四處尋回陷於分裂狀態的三大捕快，希望團結眾人為諸葛先生平反冤案、以及揭破蔡京謀朝篡位的大陰謀。諸葛先生的冤案終獲平反，神捕司也得以重開，四大捕快功不可歿，深被朝廷和江湖頌讚，從此人稱四大名捕。

It has been some time i done something on my blog, so i added some. I added a tag above this book, which shows some inspirational/motivational crap. At the bottom of the page, i added a game console which anyone can play some flash games on it. The main feature is both of these is they are both random : random qoutes, random games. Everytime you visit or refresh the page, a random qoute/game is loaded. I've only included a couple of qoutes and games juz 2 make sure itz working so i would be adding more when i find good ones.

Guess this shows how bored i am for now.

Synopsis:
Kim Myung Min will be playing Kang Ma E 강마에, an orchestra conductor in his 40’s. His character is an elite conductor with a very bad reputation, and who will do absolutely anything in order to create the very best music. But due to his self-righteous and stubborn personality that makes him think only his thoughts are correct, he is unable to form good relationships with those around him. Also, he is an elite conductor who insists that classical music is made for nobility only.

Ma E is a ‘workaholic’ and has a very troublesome personality, and thus seems similar to the character of Jang Joon Hyuk in the drama “White Tower”. Kim Myung Min has gotten the opportunity to harden his acting skills by playing another unique character. “Beethoven Virus” draws the story of people who’ve been abandoned by music, and have abandoned music themselves, and who create an orchestra and encounter many difficulties. This story will concentrate on classical music, and thus brings to mind the popular Japanese manga “Nodame Cantabile”.

Lee Ji Ah will play the role of 27 years old “Du Ru Mi”, a frank and lively talented girl who plays the violin by the ear. The first drama setting happens in the subway. This particular scene sees her playing the violin to earn money, with her looks and tears added to the mix.”

Jang Geun Suk plays as a musically-inclined traffic policeman Kang Gun Woo a person who is gifted musically with the perfect pitch who is able to replay the exact music in his mind after hearing it just once and will form a love triangle with Ma E and Du Ru Mi . As someone who can’t even recognize music notes, Gun Woo undergoes a life-changing experience after he incidentally chance upon Du Ru Mi’s (Lee Ji-ah) performance in the subway.

"Koizora" is a love story that was originally published on the popular cell phone site Mahou no iRando. It was authored by new writer Mika, and is based on her own experiences. The story was released in book form last October, selling more than a million copies in its first month.

The story revolves around Mika (named after the author), who falls in love with her classmate, Hiroki, upon entering high school. But over the course of the novel, she ends up suffering through many trials, such as rape, abortion, and betrayal.

TBS director Natsuki Imai ("Orange Days," "Taiyou no Uta") is in charge of the film.

SAD beginning SAD ending everything SAD.. I loved "Orange days" and "Taiyou no uta", this one is no exception. Sadly it was a big hit in Japan but not in other countries for reasons i dunno why lol.. I think sg is gonna show this movie soon in March. GUARANTEED tearful, heartbreaking, poignant!!

Yes... i made a new blogskin again. i normally do it when im really bored.. the chinese new year holiday was boring as usual so my hands started to itch again.. =p i think i improved from the past ones but drawings are still crap.

YUI's new single is not out yet!!! Can't wait siah but 2dae i finally managed to get her "Can't but my love" album at HMV (wohoo!! Normally i would be so lazy to go downtown). So happy to see that both her albums are actually in the charts..

There are two movies during this period : "CJ7" and "Kungfu Dunk". Guess most people are familiar with the titles. IMO both are crap.. warning to those who intend to watch.. tickets prices rose u know..

Last week i "rashly" ordered all these from amazon.com and i must say their service is very fast.. ^_^ Of all these i only love the first one - it is from the official website which contains the scores for ALL her songs!!!! Which makes the other 2 books extra.... luckily they are much cheaper... The final one is a DVD movie which has nothing to do with YUI... the morale of the story is : please think properly when u wan 2 go shopping on the internet... -_-

Best Souvenier of the Year 2007

#1. Doremon Balloon Parachute Soft Toy
Peiyun and Wilson went to Taiwan this month and got me a souvenier!! They actually took quite a long time to "catch" this so i was "asked" to put this up and send one to them so they can be reminded of their "victory" after many numerous attempts.

#2. Strap and Keychain
Prior to the taiwan trip, Peiyun went to India for some school field excursion. She got me a strap and keychain made by a some little boy.

#3. Leather Bookmark
This one is from my sister. She went to New Zealand for her honeymoon in November and somehow she thinks that i like to read books so she got me a bookmark. Looks like it's made of some cow's skin lol. Good thing about this bookmark is it's very soft and doesn't spoil ur book and it says "A New Zealand Bookmark".

Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness

Disgaea has many features which differ from those in other tactical RPGs. Humanoid characters may throw other characters across the map, in order to allow allies to move farther or force enemies to keep their distance. This even allows the player to capture enemy monsters by throwing them onto a certain square; these enemies then become allies, and can even be used on subsequent maps.

The game also has "cycles"; at the end of each trip through the storyline, the player can choose to restart the story from its beginning and maintain each character’s statistics and item inventory from the previous game. Characters that join and leave the party as part of the game's story will only be usable in the same parts of the game that they were before, but they, too, will retain their items, abilities, and stats. This complements Disgaea's high character level ceiling of 9999, while also giving the player additional chances to see Disgaea's multiple endings, many of which require many playthroughs of leveling to attain.

Most pple might think that SRPG games are brain taxing or boring but this game has a few twists tat made it much more interesting : hilarious storyline and dialouges, countless amt of combinations and multiple endings. There are many other stuffs to do besides hacking and slashing in battle which makes the battles more fun. Last by not least, enjoy the video (it looks more better on the psp)

Recently i 'accidentally' get to listen to Yui's songs... her songs are more upbeat and rock which suits my taste.. =D~~~~
More to my ignorance she's pretty much popular in Japan which i have no idea of... (im sorry -_-) and she sang quite a number of songs for movies and animes. Starting from 2dae, 1st November 2007, my job scope has changed... no more normal 8 - 5 job and juz caring abt myself... i oso have 2 take care of the people around me and their jobs too... not quite the usual me whether during work or personal.

However, i have agreed to take up this challenge so i can make life better for myself, now and in future, and for the people working with me too... coz i know the problems we have now and i know we can make our situation better... ^_^

But means even lesser time for studying and games!!! WTF!!!

By bus, by mrt?

I go to work at woodlands causeway point everyday. There's a mrt station and a bus interchange next to it so it's very convenient for me. There's a direct bus route from my home to the bus interchange but it's take about 30mins to reach. Alternatively, I can also take the bus to the mrt station near my home and take a mrt to woodlands. It will cut down my travelling time but it will cost me more on transportation. To solve that problem, i might even get a bicycle and ride to the mrt station. This will save me money in the long run... probably but i guess i'm too lazy for that.
The government has constructed all these modes of transport, and many different routes to reach our destinations. I can choose whichever i wanna take. However, none of them is straight, all are full of twists and turns. In order to reach where we wanna go, the drivers or ourselves have to look out for road signs, traffic lights, whatever signals; turn a corner when it's time to do so, stop when there's a red light or move from one route to another to cut down time...whatever.
Sometimes we take a wrong turn, or take a wrong route all together, and may even get ourselves lost or worse still, get ourselves into an accident. At this point, we always look at where we are, and the mistakes we made. But shortly afterwards, we correct ourselves, look for the right direction and the right path, and move on forward... life.

she gets to meet this guy from a coffee making company who was a flirt of some sort, and having problems wif the family... and the 2 of them starts their hilarious adventure...
very funny... standard kind of korean humor.. 尹恩惠 is juz as funny as she was in "宮" but so far i only watched episode 1 so far so good lol

童嘉蒂与小南，从高中开始的死党，两人因为身世背景雷同，在花样年华的日子里，别人忙著打扮谈恋爱，她们却已经开始到处打工，帮助家计，两人互相扶持、替彼此打气，没钱的时候，共瞌一个便当，有钱的时候，一起把钱拿到邮局放。
童嘉蒂有个同样辛苦赚钱，但是抱怨更多的妈妈，还有个很瞎的废人老弟，三不五时，叔叔还会客串来当家里的麻烦製造者，因此，她鸡飞狗跳的事很多，日子几乎没有几天平静。
但小南一直听她吐苦水，替她想办法、解忧愁。
「小南，如果没有妳一直帮我，我一直早就被衰神给打败了，谢谢妳降挺我……我不知道要怎么谢谢妳，只能把生日愿望留一个给妳了！」
「好吧…既然如此，那我什么愿望都可以许嘍？」
「当然，我已经把第三个愿望留给妳啦！」
小南看著玻璃窗外的街头。
「从现在开始计算，从我们面前经过的第十个男生，妳要去跟他要电话！」
「蛤？」
童嘉蒂没想到小南会来这一计。
「嘉蒂，妳的青春小鸟已经飞走二十隻了，妳每天不是打工就是做模型，降下去，真命天子早就被别人追走了啦！」
小南搭著童嘉蒂的肩，「童嘉蒂，从现在开始，妳二十岁的人生课题就是──爱情，恋爱ing妳懂吧，不懂的话，去听五月天的歌！」
小南看著手錶，「预备备──开始！」
「小南──」童嘉蒂仍试图阻止小南疯狂的举动。

此时，玻璃窗前走过一个脖子上掛金条，刺龙刺凤的兄弟！
「厚，好险他是第一个……」
童嘉蒂也跟著鬆一口气，这个游戏，她是已经加入了。
第九个男生，也在眼前经过。
在落地窗内，童嘉蒂与小南两人紧张的紧握著双手，「好紧张哦，接下来就是第十个了！」
「小南，要等一下出现的是个猪头……」
童嘉蒂话还没说完，两台重机同时在她们的眼前出现。飞驰而过──「哪A阿呢？」小南傻。
「时速两千了吧！台北街头耶！警车竟然还不来抓他们，简直是太无法无天了！」嘉蒂火大！
但，两人还是追了出去，想看清楚。
但看到的更傻眼的是──碰！地一声。
这两部重型机车，赶著去投胎的争先恐后，果然遭到报应了！一辆大货车从来车方向驶近，他们紧急将龙头一扭，双双打滑，在地方擦出一道好长的火花。
童嘉蒂与小南顿时傻眼，怎么也没料想到会这样…
两人互看，心里有著相同的疑问……
关键性的第十个，到底是谁？
童嘉蒂与小南追至医院，看到了在急诊室包扎的霍彦与霍达，四人对看，都是一怔。
「怎么又是他（她）们？」

时间回到三个月前，霍氏百货主办的公益园游会，场面浩大，气球迎风，笑声叫卖声不断。
童嘉蒂与小南的摊位上什么也没摆，只放了两个抽奖箱，但抽的不是奖项，而是服务。
小南负责服务女生，童嘉蒂负责服务男生。
小南手巧，指甲彩绘画的吓吓叫，嘉蒂勤快，不论是家务还是修剪头髮都难不倒她。
身为霍氏企业的第二代，霍彦与霍达不能免俗的到每个摊位捧场，已在公司学习经营的霍彦和臭脸一张的霍达相比，受欢迎许多。
「用爱心换服务，什么都能达成喔！」小南抱著纸箱吆喝。
霍达经过，正要抽时，被小南阻止。
「等等，男生要抽那箱！」
「真麻烦。」
霍达在童嘉蒂的纸箱里一抽。
『兑换服务一週，七千元。』
「先生，谢谢你的爱心。」
霍达看了手上的兑换卷，再看了童嘉蒂，「无聊！」
霍达不屑的将兑换卷丢在桌上，再把七千元投到款箱里，「服务就不用了！」，霍达转身就走，把不得能赶快离开这个鬼地方。
童嘉蒂拿了兑换卷追出去，「不行！我们不能白收钱。」
霍达看著童嘉蒂，简直觉得她莫名奇妙，有人白白给她钱还不要？要是其它摊位，就早乐翻了。
「我不需要妳的服务！」
「不需要没关係。」童嘉蒂硬是把兑换卷塞给了霍达，「你就当收据留著吧。」
霍达原本不想收下，但看到霍彦与妍书相偕出现，草草的将兑换卷放外套口袋，準备离开。
「霍达！」
妍书唤住了霍达，因此他才停了脚步，留了下来。
妍书抽了个护手的兑换卷，开玩笑的说，护完要让霍彦牵牵看，霍达在旁边看的更不是滋味。
霍彦也抽，但他抽出来的却是『兑换爱情，三万元』
「这也能兑换？」
霍彦饶富趣味的看著手上的兑换卷，小南信心满满的拍胸口保证，「当然，只要在这桶子里抽中的，都可以提供。」
妍书好奇的凑到霍彦的身边看，不看则已，一看惊呼。
「兑换爱情？」
「什…什么？」
童嘉蒂连忙拿过霍彦的兑换卷，定晴一看，上面写的的确是兑换爱情没错，而且还是小南的笔迹！
「没想到摆摊位还能顺便找男朋友，真是一举两得。」
嘉蒂气的瞪了小南一眼，却又不知该如何是好。
霍彦笑了笑，极有君子风范将金额填在支票上，「金额我会付，但爱情，值得用更好的方式对待。」
杨妍书欣赏又玩味著霍彦的话，童嘉蒂与小南目送著三人离开。
「太幸运了，竟然让王子抽到！」
「江小南，我真的会被妳害死！」
「我哪有害你，太可惜了，王子就这么白白溜走！」
童嘉蒂望著支票上的签名，霍彦，对於如王子般优雅的霍彦，她的内心里，不是真的全无期待。
只是她深深的知道，她并非是他的公主。

原以为在园游会之后，根本是两个世界的他们，根本不会再碰到，没想到上天又将他们安排在一起。
「喂，你们刚到底是谁骑的比较快啊？」
霍彦与霍达两人对看一眼，都没有回答。
「是你吗？还是你？」小南急於答案。
「小南，算了啦──」
「你们两个女生真无聊耶，我们是谁骑的比较快，有那么重要吗？」
「当然！」小南将原委说了一次。
「所以，你们到底谁是第十个？」
霍达的脚扭伤，被包了一大包，霍彦仅是些皮肉伤。但妍书一进急诊室，却担心的在霍彦的身边，担心的哭了起来。
霍达的心，比脚更伤。
「喂！」霍达把电话给了童嘉蒂。
「我就觉得你比较像第十个，脚摔成降，想也是你骑的比较快。」
嘉蒂完全被小南的天兵给打败。
嘉蒂才接过电话，霍达又从外套口袋里拿出那张「天使与主人，一週服务兑换券」给她。
「你、你不是不要换吗？」
霍彦看著霍达的举动，神情有些异状。
「妳已经收了我钱了，我不能要求吗？而且……」霍达指了指自已的脚，「我正好需要一个看护。」

七天的天使服务兑换?即将届满，看著嘉蒂最后一次整理好自己的住处，临别时，霍达发现自己居然舍不得嘉蒂离开。他甚至无聊的把已经拆下的石膏重新黏上，假装伤势还没痊癒想留下嘉蒂，但，嘉蒂还是走了。

嘉蒂和霍家两位少爷的关係，本该到此结束；但是上天对嘉蒂的捉弄却才刚刚开始。
讨债集团把童家的破房子给捣个稀巴烂，童妈带著嘉辉避往南部，隻身一人留在台北的嘉蒂无处可去，几经波折之后的落脚处竟然还是恶少的顶楼加盖小套房。

童叔误会了嘉蒂与霍家两位少爷的关係，妄想从中得利，竟贸然的偷拍下嘉蒂在霍达身边的照片用以勒索霍彦。收到照片与勒索信的霍彦大怒，误以为嘉蒂自始就是为了钱而接近自己与霍达，愤而当眾羞辱嘉蒂。

看到嘉蒂的伤心难过，霍达做了他生平第一次的和事老，替两人解开误会；嘉蒂唤醒了霍彦的内心，他突然才知道，什么才是他所想要的，对霍彦来说，在霍家，一直找不到真正家的归属感，但在童嘉蒂的身上，他却看到了那股温暖，也重新省思

The story begins in the old world of Orpesia, with the country of Oporuto. Oporuto was starving, and in need of an economic uplift. Their trade with resource-rich Katai had been cut off by the armies of Targa, Illier, and Vespanola to the East, and to the West they were blocked by the dreadful Dark Sea.
An Oporutan explorer named Ferrucio Espada ventured across the Dark Sea in search of an ocean route to Katai, and instead he discovered a new world.
The world was named Granado Espada after its discoverer.
Oporuto threw all their economic resources into the development of the new world, and spent their country into bankruptcy. Nearby Vespanola relieved the country's debts, and in the process annexed all of Oporuto's holdings in Orpesia and Granado Espada.
Following the annexation, Vespanola was attacked by their mortal enemy to the northwest, Brestia.
The Brestian surprise attack resulted in a brutal conflict known as "The Three-Year War." The war's outcome was essentially decided at the Baleares Naval Battle, in which a weak Vespanolan "Red" Navy miraculously defeated the mighty Brestian fleet.
The war forced Vespanola to ignore its interests in Granado Espada, and also created a new class of social elite, the Wartime Nobility. Due to social strife stemming from the Wartime Nobility's inability to adapt to peacetime, as well as growing control problems in Granado Espada, the Queen issued the "Reconquista Policy" urging adventurous Vespanolan families to migrate to the new world and retake the land for Queen and Country.
The game begins with your family, the new family, looking to find power, fortune and glory under Reconquista.

NICE music and graphics... the chars are all good-looking n the system is pretty unique, quite different from the usual MMORPGs... you get to control 3 chars at a time, any class, any combi, lots of variations. Sounds kinda busy but they have a lot of auto stuff and hotkeys so itz pretty ez once u get the hang of it... but it has alot of bugs tho lol hopefully they improve on that and it stays f2p ^_^. Nowadays not many online games could let me stay on for more than a few days... hopefully this one can =p

故事大纲

It's the final drama for weilun, where she passed away while filming this series... basically a sad drama.. all the good people die... She acted very well this time tho, a great improvement over her previous dramas. Coincidentally, she was supposed to die in the drama just like the way she did in reality, but God took the show too seriously... -_-

An inscrutable and abnormal territory, known as Hell's Gate, appeared and caused Tokyo to lose its original sky. In response to it, people who possessed special abilities appeared. However, the cost of gaining those abilities is that those people lack almost all human emotions. They are able to coldly murder other people and gained the fear of the populace, as well as the name Contractors. In addition, to satisfy their contract they must each fulfill a set of specific conditions unique to each Contractor. Intelligence agencies in countries around the world utilize their Contractors to uncover the secrets of Hell's Gate and engage in violent battles of intelligence information.

Hei is sent to Tokyo under the guise of a plain abroad Chinese student, Li Shunsheng, but he is in reality a top-level Agent and Contractor from the Organization with the code BK201, "The Black God of Death". Hei fights against other Contractors with unpredictable abilities and encounters and parts with women with sorrowful pasts. He also becomes entangled with the Japanese National Police Agency on the phenomenon of Hell's Gate.

It's about supernatural pple... ermm sorta reminds me of "Heroes" lolx.. something like tat... that's y im watching it.. =p

Hayate no Gotoku! (Hayate the Combat Butler)

Escaping from the yakuza, Hayate decides to kidnap a young girl named Nagi Sanzenin for ransom money, but fails miserably by giving away his own name. In addition to that, Nagi mistakes his asking for her to come with him to be a confession of love. Just as Hayate lies down and waits to freeze to death, a bike runs over him and he meets Maria, who is looking for Nagi. Hayate is smitten with her at first glance, though initially, he lies to Maria by saying that he didn't know anything about Nagi.

Hayate does a turnabout when Maria gives Hayate her scarf, and shocked by her kindness, he goes off to save Nagi when she is kidnapped by a pair of brothers who were hired by the same Yakuza. After saving Nagi, she says that she is in Hayate's debt, and Hayate asks her to repay the debt by finding him a new job before collapsing from his injuries. This leads him to becoming Nagi's new butler, who must protect Nagi from all sorts of trouble while performing normal duties alongside Maria, who is Nagi's maid.

damm funny, lame, crappy... can't stop laughing... the way the anime is presented is also different from the regular animes.. definitely worth the time..

22-year-old wins first Singapore National Barista Championships

Singapore's first national espresso coffee making competition has found its winner.

Six baristas made it through the heats to the finals of the Singapore National Barista Championships 2007.

Over the three-day competition each competitor had to serve an espresso, a cappuccino and a signature beverage of his or her choice to the seven judges.

It was 22-year-old Eleen Chai who made the perfect cuppa, with great panache.

The judges said she won because of her flair, charisma and engagement with the judges - her espresso was also one of the best in the competition.

Eleen walks away with $1,000 in prize money and the chance to represent Singapore in the World Barista Championships in Tokyo in July.

i forgot the shop name but they have quite a number of notebooks and organizers with very nice covers... next time i'll try to note down the name...

Oso went to ate dinner @ Cafe Cartel Bishan and surprising they got this promotion where u juz nid 2 buy a slice of cake and get a cup of cuppacino for only 50 cents!!! And itz a freaking big cup!! Not small like what they show in the pic.... i dunno how long the offer will last tho..

I suppose it's quite new and my feeling is hongkong drama are so much better than taiwan's... in terms of acting skills, settings, etc etc... more pro.. taiwan dramas are very local unless u like the style... but all in all as long as itz not sg serial drama.. =X

An investment banker was at the pier of a small coastal village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked.

Inside the small boat were several large yellow fin tuna. The banker complimented the fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them.

The fisherman replied, "Only a little while."

The banker then asked, "Why didn't you stay out longer and catch more fish?"

The fisherman said, "With this I have more than enough to support my family's needs."

The banker then asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"

The fisherman said, "I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, go for walks with my wife, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my friends. As you can see, I have a full and busy life."

The banker scoffed, "I am a Harvard MBA and could help you. You should spend more time fishing; and with the proceeds, buy a bigger boat! With the proceeds from the bigger boat you could buy several boats. Eventually you would have a fleet of
fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to a middleman you would sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your own cannery. You would control the product, processing and distribution. It's from one of my fav manga author so obviously i nid 2 watch it but it's really nice so dun save the money... the only bad thing about this movie is there's a part 2 to it but it's coming soon so no worries ^_^

My room is finally destroyed... It's so empty now that i can hear my own echoes! keke *誇張* but i feel much more peaceful in my room now...
Not only my room is "new", my hp is also new! The previous one was like 5 years old.. lol wee seng successfully "persuaded" me to get a new one : The Sony Erisscon W700i. Initially i intended to get the k800i but discovered that it wasn't much diff from the W700i and W700i was only half the price! And this phone became my first camera phone! lol *uncle is very outdated i know*. Fortunately or unfortunately, i have captured my first victim, hammy, who popped by to visit.

2Megapixels but very clear lah but the controls slightly different from nokia so i wasn't too used to it yet. But all in all i was happy with it ^_^

This is a super classic game... and yet pple actually go to the extend of completing the game in such a short time. Furthermore, he didn't even ate a single mushroom, never died once and the way he played was like the enemies were transparent...wtf!!
My room is basically empty now lol i think it looks 20% more spacious but i still nid 2 arrange it abit.... not really used to an empty room yet..
As u might have noticed, the blog is very slightly different now coz i added some categories but i haven't added the contents yet keke hope it doesn't get too messy :P
Last but no least, CONGRATULATIONS!!! to Adeline and Wilson for their 7 years 2gether!! So basically u 2 have passed the 1st hurdle so hopefully you guys can work hard for the many many 7 years to come!!!

Thanks to the geniuses who made the downgrading softwares, i finally managed to downgrade my psp back to version 1.5 after such a long time!!! Initially i intended to sell it away so basically it will most likely stay with me a while more ba.... sell away oso a little pity ^_^
Today i get to start learning one of my favourite pieces :

so hapi tho it's quite a challenge for my level rite now but at least im more motivated to practise lol *lame* which means basically my morale for the time being will be HIGH but hopefully it can stay for long...
My room presently is 20% destroyed... sold my ps2 liao and gamecube already got confirmation liao heehee so bastically 2dae is quite a lucky day!!! ^_^
I also added a little jukebox in the blog so no nid 2 listen 2 the same song everytime...
Haizz the only sad thing is i can't really sit down and do my theory homework. The thought of having to crack my brains always puts me off... I think i nid a lot more practice b4 i can do them effortlessly *Ganbatte!!!!*

This was a normal glass bottle with salt and water in it. Actually we used it for fengshui purposes *wadever* BUT..........today it crystallized!!!! Like wad u saw in the picture!!! Nobody else in the school saw this phenomenon b4 so we were like "WOW!!" To make things more interesting, "a good fren" decides to take a look at wad's in there and the end was the end for him.*Sob sob.... poor guy*

2dae i skipped theory lessson coz i didn't manage to do any homework.... *sianzzz* i seriously nid to find time to do my homework.... *seriously* presently oso tinking abt a new hp... d one i have now is like antique.... juz color no camera no mp3 no nothing but a new hp oso like a waste of $... hmmm sianzz...

2dae passed quite quickly.... step into school only work non-stop liao... but still managed to have dinner with Hammy!! Today's gathering turned out to be at Party World... itz actually the first time i go ktv with the guys after knowing them for so many years!!! Tho some of them had to leave early (we are all busy pple) -_- but still was very fun as i had the chance to sing almost every song except for the cantonese ones :P Hopefully we have the chance to gather more often and seems like everyone likes to sing very much!!

Starting now, i have switched from msn spaces to blogspot.... mainly because i'm so fed up with the new live spaces! Basically it destroyed everything i used to have. So goodbye msn spaces and hello blogspot!

I started the account for a couple of mins and realised that it's very versatile!
For those people who knows web building, ccs style and html coding, it will be very fun coz there are so many things you can do with this place!hmmm which means i'll be very busy liao ^_^
